Competitions

In this week-long hackathon organized by the Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA), I was exposed to the concepts of Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and Mixed Reality. I learned how to use applications such as Unity for application making, and Blender for 3D modeling and animation. Though we did not claim victory, I was among the top 10 most outstanding participants in the XRPERIENCE category. Through developing solutions under pressure, I was able to hone my critical thinking skills and project management skills.

In this Model United Nations simulation programme organized by the United Nations Association of Singapore (UNAS), I was under the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), representing the country of Somalia. We delved into topics such as human trafficking. Through being involved in dialogues addressing global challenges, I was able to improve my public speaking skills and knowledge of global affairs.

In this competition organized by the Committee to Promote Chinese Language Learning (CPCLL), Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), and Xinmin Secondary School, my team attained Second in the Upper Secondary category for our newspaper revolving around small provision shops called "Mama shops". Designs were done by me using Adobe Photoshop and Paint Tool Sai. Through interviewing locals, writing article content, and designing the layout, I was able to practice creativity and collaboration.
